Jodi Foster has received an "A+" from fashion critic Melissa Rivers, for whatever that's worth. She appeared in an indigo-ish long gown that Rivers applauded for its flattering cleavage. I like this dress because it's not pretentious or over-the-top in the way it fits Foster's body.
That's why I'd imagine it's difficult to gauge the level of risk-taking you'd like to apply to your Oscar wardrobe selection. It's great to be all fashionably innovative...but watch, the majority of tonight's well-remembered stars will boast a throwback to fashion trends of the past.
Stay tuned.
